International Women’s Day

Today is International Women’s Day. The goal of this special date is to create a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.

On this day we at Rubio want to especially celebrate all the entrepreneurial women that are building impact businesses and fighting to make the world a better place for people and the planet.

And we know that especially in our field (VC funds) diversity and bias is a big issue. In Europe, only 1.1% of VC capital goes to female teams and in the Netherlands, only 16% of VC firms invest in mixed or female start-up teams. This needs to change, and we will do all we can to support that change.

But today we celebrate the hard work and achievements of the amazing female founders & entrepreneurs we work with like Tessa Clarke, Saasha Celestial-One, Marijn Pijnenborg, Carla Snepvangers, Wendy Gonzalez, Anna Chojnacka, Fleur van Vliet and many more who have set up successful businesses that are making the world a better and more humane place. In large and small ways, they are fighting for peace, the environment, inclusiveness, tolerance, and commitment to others. They inspire us every day to work hard for this as well.
